Please meditate on one such example and use it to discuss the ways history is deployed in the service of political, social, and/or cultural goals.
Examples might include actual historical figures (such as Kong Qiu or Mulan) versus their discursive counterparts; historical events(such as the attempted
assassination of Qin Shihuang or the An Lushan Rebellion) versus their later reconstructions; historical practices or institutions (such as Sinicization or
the Mandate of Heaven) versus the larger discourses that came to be associated with them. You should feel free to write on one of these examples or to choose
your own example.
