Twenty-three analog signals, each with a bandwidth of 3.4 kHz, are sampled at an 8-kHz rate and multiplexed together with a synchronization channel (8 kHz) into a TDM PAM signal. This TDM signal is passed through a channel with an overall raised cosine-rolloff Nyquist filter characteristic of r = 0.75.
(a) Draw a block diagram for the system, indicating the of the commutator and the overall pulse rate of the TDM PAM signal.
(b) Evaluate the absolute bandwidth required for the channel.
