This research project mainly focuses on the challenges Saudi Master students face during their studies overseas and the supports or tools that help them overcome these challenges. International students generally and Saudi students specifically encounter different obstacles while they are pursuing their degrees abroad due to many factors. These factors if not discussed and solved might affect the generations to come who want to perform successfully outside their countries. The overall performance of students is not just measured by one aspect; however, there are many reasons affecting the international students. For example, the background they have, the education system of their countries and the host countries, culture barriers, language barriers and the willingness of putting extra efforts when they are facing a completely different lifestyle than theirs at home, to name a few.
My research question is what are the challenges Saudi students face in studying overseas and to explore what supports might help them overcome these challenges? I want to investigate the main reasons behind the challenges that occur in the Saudi Student’s journey. The research goal is to find out the significance of the impact of various barriers in affecting the Saudi students’ performance and how to minimize the barriers to get the most out of their studying abroad experience.
