King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals Electrical Engineering Department EE 463: Computer Project -1 (Load Flow Study) The objective of this project is to carry out the load flow study for IEEE 57-bus system. The detailed steps are as follow: Step 1: Review the power flow programs given in Sections 6.8 and 6.9 of the text. Review examples 6.9 and 6.11 of the text and prepare the load flow data in the appropriate format. Step 2: Develop a NR programs to solve the load flow of the considered system. The output of NR program must include the followings: -(a) Bus voltages, magnitudes and angles (b) Load MW and MVAR at all buses (c) Generator MW and MVAR at all buses (d) Injected MVAR from capacitor banks (e) Total MW and MVAR losses (f) List of voltage violations, if any. The normal range of bus voltages is assumed to be 0.95 – 1.05 p.u. (g) List of generator MVAR violations, if any. Assume that the MVAR of slack generator is unlimited. Step 3: Suggest a corrective scenario for each violation, if any, and validate it. Step 4: Repeat steps 2 and 3 for a stressed system with 50% increase in MW and MVAR of all loads. Step 5: Remove a heavily loaded line and run the power flow again. Is the operating condition acceptable? If not, suggest a corrective scenario! Step 6: Write a formal report showing the results of all cases considered with detailed explanation of the suggested scenarios. Grading and Submission Grading will be primarily based on correct results and the clarity of the output results. Programming style and organization (comments, consistency, etc.) will also be graded. Grading will also be based on the quality of written reports.
The objective of the project is to look for a power system of 57-bus and to study the load flow of that system.
*REQUIREMENTS1- ALL DETAILS OF THE SYSTEM SHOULD BE SHOWN ( DIAGRAM,LINE DATA AND BUS DATA).2- EACH STEP HAS TO BE EXPLAINED CLEARLY.3- FOR ASSUMPTION CASES( ESPECIALLY FOR CORRECTIVE CASES) THE REASON FOR THE ASSUMPTION SHOULD BE SHOWN.4- THE REPORT SHOULD BE CLEAR AND NEAT.
